I sent the following e-mail to Arizona House Speaker Kirk Adams about HB2280, Arizona's Criminal Trespass Bill:

Dear Speaker Adams:

I was very disappointed to hear that HB2280, the Criminal Trespass Bill, failed to win approval in the House.  I strongly feel that before the legislature makes decisions to cut spending and raise taxes for law abiding Arizonans, it should take steps to ensure that illegal aliens pack up their families and leave our state.

Taxpayers have been waiting for 23 years for enforcement of immigration law since enactment of the Simpson-Mazzoli Bill in 1986.  The time for excuses and stalling is long past.  When the legislature meets in special session, I hope you will suggest to the governor that she submit HB2280 for reconsideration.

I am not willing to have my taxes raised to pay to enroll illegal aliens or their children in Arizona's expensive public schools.  For me, this is not a negotiable matter.  Arizona must take effective measures to rid our state of illegal aliens.  It is very irresponsible for our leaders to cut spending and raise taxes without first taking decisive action regarding illegal aliens.  Please let me know your views on HB2280.
