Years ago, congressional offices could be impressed by an organized flood of handcrafted, personalized letters from their constituents. However, as technology has advanced, congressional offices have become quite efficient in deflecting grassroots letter writing efforts. Their most potent tactic has been the dreaded form letter response that simply restates the issue or the general description of what is in the pertinent bill without giving a definitive answer, and then closes with the dismissive, "Thank you for sharing your views with me. I will keep them in mind...."

These days, it no longer makes sense to ask 100 people to write their Congressman only to receive 100 copies of the same form letter back in response. When that happens, letter writers quickly become discouraged. There is a better way!

Get Involved

Step 1 Contact your Congressman asking for their position on an issue.
Step 2 Use Scribd to upload the e-mail or a pdf scan of the letter you receive back from your representative to Letters From Congress.
Step 3 Broadcast the Letters From Congress Scribd link for your posted letter via e-mail or posts on message boards and comment sections.

Organization

To operate a labor efficient 1-10-100 Action Program under our Letters From Congresss campaign does require some organization. We need volunteer members working together as a team. We believe the best way to organize is by State Congressional delgations and then by individual Congressional districts within the states.
