Now, many propose a system of universal health care run by the government The John Birch Society opposes universal government health care which would inevitably lead to the decreasing levels of quality and health-care rationing experienced by all other nations with national health care.

With the party of HillaryCare in the ascendancy, the drive toward “universal healthcare” in America may succeed, after more than a half century of effort. This time, we are told, it’s “not socialized medicine”; it’s “equitable healthcare” or “single-payer healthcare.” It’s about providing a “human right.”

How often do we hear that "health care is a right" which government must guarantee to everyone? Liberal politicians repeat that slogan like a drumbeat and great numbers of Americans are wont to repeat it themselves, as if saying it often enough will make it true. Is health care really a right?
