For many decades the John Birch Society has consistently upheld the right of individual citizens to keep and bear arms, as secured by the Second Amendment, for the purposes of hunting, self-defense, and as a last resort to resist tyranny.



Understanding the Right

HuntingAs delightful as sport shooting, gun collection, and hunting may be as recreational pursuits, the "right of the people to keep and bear arms" has nothing to do with such worthwhile hobbies, nor with the history of the Second Amendment. There is more at stake.

 
Firearms and Freedom

SheriffAmerica’s legacy of freedom is heavily predicated on the right of individual citizens to keep and bear arms. Indeed, the Second Amendment is arguably the most important constitutionally protected right of all, since it serves to safeguard all others.
